Dr. Cavazos serves as both a surgeon and Medical Director for the Texas Center for Medical and Surgical Weight Loss, as well as Medical Director for the Northeast Baptist Hospital Bariatric Program. He has extensive training and experience in both laparoscopic surgery as well as bariatric procedures. Dr. Cavazos earned his M.D. at the University of Texas at Houston before completing his surgical residency at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Following his general sugical training, Dr. Cavazos received fellowhip training at the Wittgrove Bariatric Center. Dr. Cavazos is board certified as well as a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
